Privacy Policy

This site — https://muhammadasad.com.pk/ — is operated by Muhammad Asad, a freelance software developer based in Pakistan. This page explains what personal data I collect, why, and what I do with it. Questions? Message me on WhatsApp or email admin@muhammadasad.com.pk.

1. What I collect

I only collect what's needed to run the site and respond to enquiries.

  • Contact form submissions — name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, and the message you send. Used to reply to your enquiry.
  • Basic server logs — IP address, browser/user-agent, referring URL, requested page. Collected automatically by the web host for security and performance diagnostics. Retained ~30 days.
  • Cookies — a small number of functional cookies (session, CSRF protection) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics / Search Console, if enabled).
  • Project communications — if we work together, I retain emails, WhatsApp threads, invoices, and technical credentials you share, for the duration of the engagement plus 7 years for tax/audit reasons.

I do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles for third parties.

2. Why I collect it

  • Responding to enquiries and sending quotes
  • Delivering and invoicing contracted work
  • Keeping the site secure and running (logs)
  • Understanding which pages are useful (anonymised analytics)
  • Meeting tax and legal record-keeping obligations under Pakistani law

3. Third parties who may receive data

I use a small number of standard tools. When you submit a form or pay an invoice, some data is shared with them.

  • Web host — stores site files and logs.
  • Google — Analytics, Search Console, Fonts. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Payment processors — JazzCash, Easypaisa, bank transfers, Wise, or PayPal. Their privacy policies govern how they handle payment data; I never see your full card or wallet credentials.
  • WhatsApp / Meta — if you contact me via WhatsApp, Meta's policies apply to that conversation.
  • Email providers — Google Workspace / Zoho Mail for work email.

4. Cookies & tracking

This site uses functional cookies (needed for the site to work) and analytics cookies (to measure traffic). Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised where possible. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work, I just won't see your visit in my stats.

I do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social-media tracking scripts unless specifically disclosed on a page.

5. Data retention

  • Form submissions: up to 12 months, then deleted unless an active project is underway.
  • Server logs: ~30 days.
  • Invoices & tax records: 7 years, as required by Pakistan's Federal Board of Revenue.
  • Analytics: 14 months (Google Analytics default).

6. Your rights

Whether you're in Pakistan, the EU/UK (GDPR applies if you're an EU/UK data subject), or elsewhere, you can ask me to:

  • Tell you what personal data I hold about you
  • Correct data that's wrong
  • Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements above)
  • Stop processing it for marketing purposes
  • Export your data in a portable format

Email admin@muhammadasad.com.pk with the subject line "Data Request" and I'll respond within 30 days.

7. Security

The site runs on HTTPS, uses up-to-date WordPress core and plugins, and is backed up regularly. Client credentials and secrets are kept in a password manager, never in plain-text email. That said, no internet service is 100% secure — if you believe your data has been compromised, contact me immediately.

8. Children

This site isn't directed at anyone under 13. I don't knowingly collect data from children. If you're a parent and believe a child has submitted information, email me and I'll delete it.

9. International transfers

Some of the services I rely on (Google, Meta, Wise, PayPal) are based outside Pakistan. By using this site, you consent to your data being processed in the countries where those services operate, under their respective safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

I'll update this page when something material changes and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes affecting existing clients will also be sent by email.
